EVERY BLOOMIN’ THING! A show for spring, please submit your art

Spring is in the air, with flowers, flowers,everywhere!

Our spring art show will feature all media, be it painting, sculpture, ceramics, metal, furniture, photography or mixed media all with a ‘bloomin’ design or motif. Whether it’s an amazing photograph of a mammoth sunflower, or a leaf motif on a hand-thrown mug, local artists and craftspeople are invited to enter this springtime event.

$5.00 per each entry
Deadline to enter is Friday, March 11th, 5 p.m.
“Every Bloomin’ Thing will run from March 17 through April 9.
Art must have a “blooming” theme

Up to 4 (four) entries per artist

All media is acceptable

Ages 16+.
All work must be “ready to hang”, or if it is 3D work, please provide your own pedestal
Prizes for top three works
All works must be for sale
25% commission will be taken for all works sold
NEWAARTS reserves the right to not display artworks that are not presentable.

Bring your artwork to the gallery at 130 S. Main Street. NEWAARTS is open Wednesday through Saturday, Noon – 5 p.m.

The First Monday night each month we hold an open meeting in the on 130 S Main St, Colville, WA 99109 If you are interested in joining the gallery at some level or just volunteering to help us staff the gallery, come and meet the artists and join in the planning of events.

There will be finger foods and drinks so come spend the evening with us in the gallery and see how you might get involved in supporting the arts in Colville.

Leather Bracelets

This is a great class for beginner leather crafters. Jacque Brock is teaching the students what fun you can have with a hammer, a piece of leather, some stamps and a little dye. The students completed their first project and are anxious to have you join them for the fun of making a secret leather bracelet.

Hemp Jewelry Class for Ages 11+ with Jacque Brock. There is still time to join this class.

Come and do something creative at the Gallery on Early Release Tuesdays.

Bring your own beads if you have something you would like to use in the center of a necklace.

Are you looking for something fun to do this winter? Check out our art classes. We are offering drawing classes on Saturdays with Gloria de los Santos, Pottery Classes with Debbie McDowell Thursday evenings, Acrylic Painting Class with Jeannie Cox early Thursday afternoons and in April you can learn Pastel Drawing with Lacie Abell on Saturday mornings. We are adding more classes so keep watching the calendar. Also check out the calendar for the cost and times of each class and register under the tab “Gallery” to save your spot.

ART CLASSES IN THE GALLERY

Early Release Classes will begin this Tuesday, January 11. Come in and join Ann Nelson in the wonderful world of Watercolor. Students will have time to choose a project and learn the steps of doing a watercolor painting from beginning to end.

Gina Greenwood will introduce the students to the joy of making a birch bark vessel. They will use various materials including birch bark, leather, beads and other fun adornments.

Thursday evening is for 14+ to adults. Debbie McDowell, our popular local potter, will be teaching hand-building and sculpting. This is one of our most popular classes.

On Saturdays, Gloria de los Santos is answering the request for drawing classes. The class will cover shapes, lighting and composition. If you have always wanted to learn to draw–this is the class for you.

Early Release Tuesday Art Classes

Watch the calendar for the list of art classes being offered in the gallery beginning January 11 and each early release Tuesday this semester. Classes to choose from in January and February will include drawing and mixed media classes with Gina Greenwood and Silk Painting with Sylvia Kalua.

The artists worked together Saturday and hung the “Holiday Show” and now it is ready for you to come CHECK IT OUT! We are excited about the new space on Main Street and would love to share “Local Art” with you.

Hours for the Holiday Show will be Wednesday through Saturday 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. Come and browse and chat with our artists.

Hanging Holiday Show

Anyone interested in joining the holiday show should bring your items to be included Monday, Nov 22 at 5:30pm at the new gallery. That address is 130 S Main (by the House of Music). Rules for showing for anyone not a member of the art co-op can display 2 items for $5 and 4 items for $10. Come join the fun!
