Jerry McKellar

Life took quite an interesting change for Jerry McKellar twenty-three years ago. The former dentist built the sculpture that would set the tone for his future. The sculpture was called Startled, a limited edition piece built in 1987. After McKellar built the piece his fascination continued to grow until 1994, when he decided to take up sculpting as a full-time thing. The change doesn’t seem too bizarre to McKellar though. Dentistry, like sculpting, requires artistic skill, just not as prominently. He has built many more sculptures since his first including: Message to Sky Father, Dance of Sun and Moon, Huckleberry Daze, Working the Line, and Serenity. At first his work primarily focused on wildlife, it now differs quite a bit. McKellar still creates many pieces, which can be found allover the United States.
